Sasha is a small staffie-cross, weighing just 11.2 kilos, and possibly crossed with something like a Jack Russell. She is small enough to only need an extra-small size of one of our harneeses. She has a gentle and sweet personality and is very affectionate and was born September 2015 making her 10 years and 9 months at the time of her arrival.

 

The sort of home for Sasha

• No dogs currently in the home

• No cats in the home

• No small children, recommended minimum age is 10 years

• Not cages in the home

• Access to the sofa for cuddles

• Access to a private and secure garden (not shared or communal)

 

Handling

A very friendly little girl, easy to handle and loves to give gentle little kisses. No problems being fitted with a new collar and one of our temporary harnesses.

 

As she is affectionate and loves contact she will definitely be a dog that will want to sit next to you on the sofa. She also travels well in the car, at least on the short journey to the vets. She was a bit wriggly on the way, but not bad, and travelled better on the way back.

 

Sasha knows the sit and paw commands, and is picking up touch and eyes very quickly.

Foster home

Sasha has had to mvoe into a foster home temporarily as we became full in kennels. During her time she has been a very good girl. She has not messed in the house and has not been destructive. She often sleeps through the night, but if she does need a tinkle she will let her 'owner' know.

The foster carers have continued to report how good she is in the home, but that she would probably suit a quieter home.

 

Walks

Due to the very hot weather when she arrived our walks with Sasha have been very limited. She does weave quite a bit but no pulling at all. She seems interested in people, but ignores dogs but does not like them up very close. She is happy to do her toilet business on the walk.

 

Play

When she arrived she did not show a great deal of interest in toys but as the days have passed she has become more and more interested in play. She loves snuffling, and loves snuffling in a snuffle box or using a snuffle mat. She has now got the hand of the Kong wobbler treat dispensing toy as well. She loves cuddles and a fuss next to you on the sofa.

 

Health

Sasha has no obvious signs of injury or illness.

 

She saw our vet on 26th June for a general check up and have her 1st restart and Kennel Cough vaccinations. The vet said she was in good general health, and may already be spayed but cannot be 100% sure. If she is not spayed this will be done once rehomed.

 

Viewings

During very hot weather, viewings (which have to involve a dog walk) may be suspended or arranged only for early mornings.
