Sadie
Sadie arrived for rehoming on the 15th April 2026. She came from a private home, and she is 2 years and 4 months at the time of arrival.
Sadie is probably a staffie-cross given she is larger at 26.3 kilos than most staffies.
The type of home for Sadie
-
No dogs currently living in the home
-
No cats in the home
-
Due to her size we would recommend no small children, and no children under 8 years.
-
Access to her own private and secure garden (not shared or communal)
-
Access to the sofa for cuddles
-
Ideally a home with someone there all the time, or with owners willing to work with her to get her used to be alone.
Handling
Despite being a larger staffie-cross Sadie has a very sweet personality, and when she knows you she is a very friendly and gentle. She may be a little wary of new people, but this soon passes. She allowed us to fit her with a new collar without any issues, and the same with one of our temporary harnesses. She takes treats very nicely. She knows sit, and has picked up touch, eyes and middle very quickly.
Walks
Sadie was not walked very much prior to coming into us, and we are trying her with two x 20-minute walks each day to get her used to longer walks. We will shortly increase these to 30-minutes, and further as she gets stronger and more used to longer walks. She really enjoys sniffing and exploring on walks, which is great to see.
She has had no bad reactions to any dog that she has seen, but on one occasion she did pull quite hard towards one, and our volunteer said she was a strong dog. Although on walks she is not noted as a puller, she is strong, and may pull on the odd occasion.
Play
Sadie has started to play with toys very slowly with us, but she has shown a fondness for a treat-stuffed Kong wobbler toy, and enjoyed using the snuffle mats for a short time.
Health
Said appears in good health, but she has long nails. These will wear down with regular walking. She is microchipped but not neutered. Sadie has now seen our vet and her health is fine. The vet says her nails will wear down naturally with regularly walking. She has now had her 1st restart and Kennel Cough vaccinations.
Please be aware that the profiles of new dogs can change as we get to know about the dogs the longer, they stay with us.
The adoption contribution is £250.00.
If you adopt a dog from Happy Staffie Rescue you could be entitled to five weeks free pet insurance through Agria (terms and conditions apply).
