Rex
Rex arrived for rehoming on 20th June 2026. Rex is what we would describe as a traditional Staffordshire bull terrier, weighing 15.7 kilos.
Rex came to us as a stray which will mean the type of home we are currently looking for:
-
No dogs currently in the home
-
No cats in the home
-
No children under the age of 8 years
-
Access to his own private and secure garden (not shared or communal)
-
Not caged/crated in the home
Things to consider
-
As we have limited history for him we do not know if he is house trained, although given his age we would like to think that he is, and he has been spotless in his kennel.
-
We do not know if he is used to being left alone, and you may have to train him to get him used being left, up to a maximum of four hours.
Handling
A very friendly little staffie boy, very affectionate who loves cuddles, fusses and giving kisses. He loves to approach people, even strangers with a wagging tail and happy disposition.
He was easy to fit with a new collar and one of our temporary harnesses without the need for treats.
Zero aggression, dominance or fear shown in any of our interactions with any of our people, including being picked up.
Walks
An absolute delight to walk. Seems genuinely happy to be out and about with a tail that is always wagging. Occasionally will look back and even stop and come over for some additional fuss and love.
He has had zero bad reactions to any dogs he has seen, just stopped and looked at them, but no tension or anything unwanted. Happy to do his toilet business on walks. He seems to love rolling down hills!
Our walkers have commented on how he walks nicely on the lead, walks really well, has lots of energy.
Play
Will play with pretty much any toy. Always brings the toys back and is a proper little busy body with a toy box. No signs of possessiveness or dominance during play.
Health
Rex arrived in what appears to be good health, with no obvious signs of injury or illness. He will see our vet during week commencing 22nd June 2026 for a check-up, his restart vaccinations and to be microchipped.
Viewings
During very hot weather, viewings (which have to involve a dog walk) may be suspended or arranged only for early mornings.
Please be aware that the profiles of new dogs can change as we get to know about the dogs the longer, they stay with us.
The adoption contribution is £275.00.
If you adopt a dog from Happy Staffie Rescue you could be entitled to five weeks free pet insurance through Agria (terms and conditions apply).
