Rainy arrived for rehoming on 28th July 2026. She is a staffie-cross, weighing 22.4 kilos and is 3 years and 3 months of age at the time of her arrival.

 

Rainy is a very friendly, happy and sociable dog, with no aggression towards us.

 

The sort of home for Rainy

• No dogs currently in the home

• No cats in the home

• No children under the age of 5 years

• Access to her own private and secure garden (not shared or communal)

• Not caged/crated in the home

• Not left for more than 4 hours at a time

 

Handling

From the moment she arrived Rainy has been a very friendly, sociable dog. She has not shown any aggressive or dominant behaviours around us. She allowed us to fit a new collar and one of our temporary harnesses easily, without any issues. She may be wary of unfamiliar sounds.

 

She has been very well trained by her previous owner and came to us already knowing sit, paw, touch, eyes, middle, down.

 

Walks

Rainy walks well, sometimes in front, occasionally by the side. She is good with traffic and crossing the road. Keen to meet new people when out and about. Dogs she has seen she has only given a slight pull towards although she does keep an eye on them if they remain in sight.

 

Play

Rainy does play with toys, but at the moment in the kennel environment she tends to stop play, and have fusses instead, or snuffling in the snuffle box for treats.

 

Health

Rainy has seen our vet and her general health is all fine. She has now had her 1st restart and Kennel Cough vaccines. Nails are a bit long but she was too stressed to be clipped, and the vet feels they would wear down with regular walks.

 

Viewings

During very hot weather, viewings (which have to involve a dog walk) may be suspended or arranged only for early mornings.

The adoption contribution is £250.00.

• No health issues

• House trained

• Used to being left alone for up to 4 hours

• Cage trained

• Has lived with children as young as 2 years – she is perfect around children of all ages.

• Not used to be introduced to other dogs – may be too excited and playful for some dogs. She has been to doggy day care before and has been fine, but I do not allow her to meet dogs on walks.

• May pull on walks, but knows the “stay” command as heel.

• Never let off the lead.

• Will chase cats

• Loves having the bath

• No anxieties or fears

• Never bitten

• Never shown aggression or dominance
