Nookie arrived for rehoming on 7th July 2026. She is described as a staffie-cross and is not thought to be more than 3 years of age. She currently weighs 23.5 kilos.

 

The sort of home we are looking for is as follows

• No dogs in the home

• No cats in the home

• No children under the age of 10 years

• Access to her own private and secure garden (not shared or communal)

 

Things to consider

• As we have limited history for her we do not know if she is house trained, although given her age we would like to think that she is, and she has been spotless in her kennel.

• We do not know if she is used to being left alone, and you may have to train her to get her used to being left, up to a maximum of four hours.

 

Handling

A very friendly young girl, who was very happy meeting us without any fear, aggression, dominance. We were able to fit her with a new collar easily, but with the harness she became timid and bowed down. We were still able to fit it without any issue, but it made us think that she was not used to it, or had had bad experiences with hands over her head.

 

Walks

Happy to engage in her surroundings, not much pulling or weaving but she is strong.

 

Dogs in a distance she may give a little whine at, but one dog that got within 3 metres of she barked and pulled hard towards it. On another walk an off-the-lead French bulldog ran right up to her nose and they did nose to nose hellos, and Nookie’s tail was wagging.

 

Happy to do her toilet on the walk. No fazed by passing traffic.

 

Play

Her default position during play is often to just roll over for belly tickles. She loves having fuss and attention but will also play with pretty much any toy. She also really enjoys snuffling for treats.

 

Health

Nookie appears in good health, but has clearly been bred from in the past. She does not appear to have any injuries or illness and is bright, alert and responsive.

 

She will see our vet in her first few days with us to have a check-up, and restart her vaccinations.

Viewings

During very hot weather, viewings (which have to involve a dog walk) may be suspended or arranged only for early mornings.
