Georgie & Max

Max and Georgie arrived for rehoming on 27th May 2026. They are not related, but are a bonded paid. Max (white with black patch), the boy is estimated to be 10 years of age. Georgie (blue and white) the girl is 4 years of age in July.

They are a lovely sweet, affectionate pair, who are clearly very bonded together and like to do everything together.

Max came to us intact, and will be neutered on the 4th June 2026. Although we are told Georgie is spayed there is no clear evidence of this.

The sort of home for these two lovely dogs:

  • No dogs in the home

  • No cats in the home

  • No children under the age of 10 years

  • Access to their own private and secure garden (not shared or communal)

  • Access to the sofa for cuddles

  • Not caged/crated in the home

Handling

Both very friendly dogs, who as soon as they arrived were all over us, and very affectionate (if a bit whiffy at the time!). They allowed us to fit them with new collars, and temporary harnesses without any issues, other than wriggling.

They have been very easy to look after, just requiring some supervision when eating – not because of any aggression, just to ensure they finish their own meals. They have shown no aggression, dominance or fear to any of the numerous people they have already met while being with us. They also both take treats very nicely.

It is very clear they are a bonded pair, and like to do things together, like going for walks, vet visits, having baths, etc.

Walking

Although the hot weather in the first few days of their arrival has limited walks more than we would like they have had several so far and the picture we get is the same on all of them. Our walkers have described them as “walking beautifully”, “absolutely golden” and “two of the easiest dogs [they have] ever walked”. They may pull a bit at the start, and while most walkers have said they have ignored other dogs on one walk, Max pulled and growled towards one dog on one occasion.

Happy to do their toilet business outside and neither appears bothered by traffic. They are both happy sniffing and investigating on their walks, and are good at taking water on their walks.

Play

Both dogs enjoy playing, and are happy doing their own thing. They may play with each, and with the same toy, and so far there has been no aggression or possessiveness between them over any toy. Max can be vocal and impatient during play, barking for toys to be thrown, etc. Max is definitely the more playful with toys, whereas Georgie tends to want the fuss, belly rubs, cuddles, though she really enjoys snuffling for treats, and is the more treat orientated of the two.

Both dogs can do Sit, Paw and Touch. Georgie has more focus, as Max tends to lose focus on the Middle and Eyes training.

Health

Both dogs have now seen our vet on 27th May 2026, and both have had their 1st restart vaccination and their Kennel Cough vaccine. They will need a 2nd restart vaccination four weeks after the first to complete their courses.

Max is currently intact, but will be castrated on 4th June 2026. Although we received third hand information that Georgie was spayed we have no proof of this, and neither us nor the vet could find a definite scar to prove this, which is why Max is being castrated early (please note that most male dogs remain fertile for up to 6 weeks post-castration).

No concerns from the vet for either dog, and vet confirms that Georgie has likely had at least one litter, possibly recently.

We are accepting adoption enquiries now, and while they are available, viewings can take place between now and 3rd June 2026, after which viewings will be suspended for a few days while Max recovers from neutering. If they are still available viewings will then resume on or around 10th June 2026.

Please be aware that the profiles of new dogs can change as we get to know about the dogs the longer, they stay with us.

The adoption contribution for both dogs together is £450.00.

If you adopt a dog from Happy Staffie Rescue you could be entitled to five weeks free pet insurance through Agria (terms and conditions apply).
