Blue

New boy Blue arrived for rehoming on 14 October 2025.

Blue is 10 years and 9 months of age at the time he arrived, and came to us as a stray.

The sort of home we are looking for:

  • No dogs in the home

  • No cats in the home

  • No children under the age of 10 years

  • Access to his own private and secure garden (not shared or communal)

Things to know about Blue

  • As he is a stray we do not know if he is house trained, but given his age he should be, and he is also clean in his kennel, waiting to do his toilet outside in our garden.

  • We do not know if he is used to being left alone, and while he maybe perfectly fine with this you must be prepared that you may have to work/train with him to get him used to being left. If he is good being left alone he should not be left for more than 4 hours at a time.

Handling

A very happy and friendly boy when he arrived. Very confident walking into our little centre. Everyone he has met he has been very friendly to, clearly a well socialised dog (with people). Allowed us to fit him with a collar and one of our temporary harnesses with no issues.

Can jump up a bit, seems a bit impatient around toys and treats. Will sit, give paw, but if he has to wait too long he will stand up on his back legs impatiently or jump up.

Walks

Blue has had several walks with us so far. He may pull sometimes, but other walkers have said he is a great dog to walk with no pulling. The dogs he has seen he has simply looked at and nothing more. Very keen to sniff and investigate. Happy to do his toilet business on the walks. He has not been bothered by traffic.

Feedback on walks have been “a calm walk”, “a nice walk” and “a lovely walk.”

Playing

A very playful dog, and a gentle one as well. Happy to play tug with us strangers on day one. Seems to like all toys, and has especially warmed to a big pink tough Rhino toy. One of our volunteers described him as “a gentle player” and we think that sums him up perfectly.

No possessiveness over toys throughout our play sessions, and no issues picking up and packing toys away.

Health

Blue appears in good health, though he does have a few old, healed scars around his face. He has no obvious signs of injury or illness. His is microchipped and already neutered.

He will see our vet during week commencing 13 October 2025 to have a check over and his 1st restart vaccination.

The adoption contribution is £225.00.

If you adopt a dog from Happy Staffie Rescue you could be entitled to five weeks free pet insurance through Agria (terms and conditions apply).
