New boy George has arrived 3 September 2020. He has come from a very loving and busy family home, and has to come into rescue as a last resort. He is neutered and microchipped but not currently vaccinated. He had his last flea and worming treatments on 25 August 2020.

He will be 6 years of age in approximately October 2020. He is a super friendly, very affectionate people dog that loves giving kisses and having cuddles. A proper sofa dog George loves and is used to lots of human company and would suit a family home, possibly with older children when someone is home most of the time and his times left alone are short.

Due to volume of enquiries we expect to receive for George we will only be replying to people that we are able to arrange a viewing for. Priority first is given to suitability, based on our requirements in this assessment, and then the availability to come at the earliest available viewings.

In summary, this is the type of home we are looking for:

  • No dogs or cats

  • George is used to the hustle and bustle of a busy family home with older children and would suit this.

  • Minimal time left alone, ideally no more than 2 hours.

  • A decent sized garden for George to run around and also do his toilet business in.

  • George likes good long walks

  • Loves a roast dinner

  • Has lived with children of all ages, so our minimum age requirement of 5 years+ is applicable

Socialising with people

George appears to love everyone he meets, and will not be afraid to dish out loads of kisses so if you’re not into this do not enquire. He will suit a family home where people love their dog to give out lots of affection, and where he can enjoy the hustle and bustle that normally goes on.

George loves to play, and came into our care with several of his favourite toys that he loves to fetch and retrieve and he will give back to you.

Taking treats George is gentle and doesn’t nip or snatch.

On our first walk George did not toilet, and his previous owner has said that George prefers to do his business in the garden. He pulled quite a bit in the first few minutes, but this may be more to do with new surroundings. He settled later and did not pull at after for the remainder of the walk. George is always walked on a harness, and is not used to a collar. The first dog George encountered he was keen to go over to until this dog growled and barked at him, so we moved on. The next dogs George came across with two front garden based dogs that barked at him from across the road, but George was not interested.

George cannot live with another dog anymore as while he previously lived with another dog they have had a couple of fights recently which the owners could not explain and this has led them to reluctantly have to separate them. We are therefore looking for a home without other dogs.
