Happy Staffie Rescue believes in quality over quantity and when it comes to the dogs in our care, their welfare is the most important thing.
Dogs who spend periods of time in kennels can often struggle and lose confidence or become aloof. As you can imagine finding enough hours in the day for our volunteers to interact, socialise and play with every dogs in our care is an uphill struggle and they work tirelessly to ensure the dogs receive the care they need.
This is why we have decided to launch our Dogs Day Out programme. It's a simple but invaluable scheme that's lets our supporters make a personal difference to a dogs life by providing care, exercise, adventure or just simple company for a minimum of 4 hours. Dogs Day Out is not just about taking a dog for a short walk. Interaction and socialising also play a major part.
How it works
Dogs Day Out runs on Sundays and supporters collect a rescue dog at 10.00am from our rehoming centre in Kidderminster (Worcestershire) and take responsibility for the dog until 2.00pm. During that time you can offer the dog a chance to escape kennel life and maybe experience a woodland walk, a beach break, park playtime or just simply a holiday at home. The 4 hour commitment is a minimum and this can be extended depending on what you have planned.
Supporters wishing to take part will need to be able to get to the kennels using their own transport, car travel crates can be provided.
Dog handlers must be 18 years old or over, children under 14 years of age and your own dog are unfortunately not able to participate in the event due to insurance.
