Cracker

Little Cracker arrived for rehoming on 2 January 2025. She came to us as a stray. She is a small crossbreed, weighing in at just 14 kilos on arrival. She is currently 20 months of age.

The sort of home for Cracker:

  • No dogs or cats in the home.

  • No children living in the home under the age of 12 years.

  • Access to her own private and secure garden (not shared or communal).

Things to consider

  • We do not know if Cracker is house trained.

  • We do not know if Cracker is used to being left alone, and if she is, this can only be up to a maximum of 4 hours at a time

Handling

Very sweet and gentle natured and while we have been told she is nervous of new people, she seems to get over this very quickly, and has been very affectionate with us. No aggression or dominance shown to us, and easily allowed us to fit her with a new collar, and size her up and fit her with one of our temporary harnesses.

Very treat orientated, and sits without asking most of the time, and volunteers a paw when she knows treats are about. She is currently quite grabby with treats which will need some work on going forward.

Walking

On our first walk she ignored other dogs, traffic even people, she plodded along at a brisk pace. No pulling, but she does walk at the length of the lead.

Subsequent walks with our walkers have been similar – no real pulling, just walks at length of the lead and at a nice brisk pace. She is described as an elegant dog on walks.

Playing

When she arrived she was not showing a great deal of interest in toys but did seem to like brain games and she is treat orientated so toys that eject treats she has some interest in. Since arriving she has really started to enjoy her play time.

Health

Appears in good overall health, just a bit underweight. She arrived weighing just 14kg, but is now 14.7kg. Is already microchipped.

Cracker saw our vet on 8 January 2025 and had her 1st restart vaccination. She needs to put on a little weight, but the vet believes she is likely crossed with a slim dog, like a whippet.

We do not believe she is currently neutered.

The adoption contribution for Cracker is £225.00.
