Arthur

Arthur arrived for rehoming 19 March 2025. He is a stray dog, so we have no history for him. We currently estimate him to be 6-8 years of age.

Arthur from the moment he arrived was a super affectionate, happy, typical little male staffie.

The sort of home for Arthur

  • No dogs or cats in the home

  • No children under the age of 10 years

  • Access to his own private and secure garden (not shared or communal)

  • Access to the sofa for cuddles

Things to consider

  • As he is a stray we do not know if he is house trained, though it is likely he is given his age. He has also been clean in his kennel.

  • We will also not know how he is being left alone at home, although we do know he is quiet in his kennel. You may have to train him to get him used to being left up to 4 hours

Handling

From the moment he arrived he is happy and very affectionate, wanting to have fusses and give kisses to whoever he met. No problem allowing us to fit him with one of our temporary harnesses or a new collar.

Arthur is the name we have given him in memory of one our recently passed volunteer dog walkers, so he is not used to it yet (he is not microchipped so we do not know what he was called before). We are confident he will pick his new name up very quickly.

Walking

On our first walks Arthur was very easy to walk, engaging with the outside world, doing lots of sniffing, wees and poops. Not bothered by traffic passing close by. Some interest in a dog he saw, ranging from laying down to slow walking towards it. A bit of pulling here and there but nothing major.

Playing

Loves to play and seems to like all types of toys. Will destroy soft toys in seconds. Not keen on giving up toys (tends to runaway) but will do with a food bribe. Also enjoys tug games. Lots of staffie chatter and grumbles during play.

Health

Arthur will see our vet in next the day or two. He will have a check-up, his 1st restart vaccination and will be microchipped. Arthur will be neutered after adoption.

Arthur appears at a good weight (18.5 kg), and so far, appears to be in good health, with no signs or symptoms of illness or injury. We will also ask our vet to estimate his age.

The adoption contribution for Arthur is £250.00.
